Koh Ker’s historical importance lies in its role as a short-lived capital under King Jayavarman IV, who ruled from 928 to 941 CE. Despite its relatively short use, Koh Ker holds immense archaeological and cultural value, offering insights into the early Khmer Empire’s religious practices and architectural innovation.
